(Deep breath…)
We are crossing the Susquehanna River bridge on the Acela Express train from Union Station in Washington, DC to New York City, and I am posting my very first blog.
(Thank you, Christine, my mentor and youngest who helped me set this up)
We are on a God Trip. God only knows where we’ll end up. Right now it’s Amtrak. We are doing this right. Business Class.
Originally the plan was to drive Christine to New Jersey, park in New York Waterways, take the ferry to Manhattan, spend a few days and then drive on to Boston where I was going to drop her off to join her college roommate for her 20th reunion at Smith. That’s when gasoline on April 26th was only $3.59 a gallon. That was the plan before I turned 70. So, I turned 70. Gasoline went to $3.89 a gallon (same station, 2 weeks later). We are doing the environmentally conscious thing.
And we have dueling computers. My daughter to my left. A lady with her Nook across the aisle. The train is barrelling full speed ahead to the city where I was born. Gotta go there at least once a year to see if it’s still standing. And especially now that Bin Laden is history, pay homage to the Big Apple, a city that survives with all the glitter and creativity, sound and soul humans can dream up when they live close together.
Will keep you posted what happens next.
Congratulations on your new blog! I can’t wait to see where God takes us next! 🙂
Willow,
Lovely to see your blog up and running. Enjoy the trip. I’m ALWAYS jealous of anyone on their way or in NYC. Keep posting. You and I met at the blogging conference…I was the opening speaker.
Take care and happy writing,
Denise
So very proud of you my dear friend….You are always green and growing and trying new things…..Never ripe, rotting or static……
Congratulations on your new blog!!! I so enjoy hearing about your God Trips, and am delighted to know you have a place I can send people to, so they can read of them. Am looking forward to taking another God Trip, with you and Kate. Shall we make it on Betty’s Birthday? *warm hug
Way to go, Willow! This is so much fun for both of you and for me to watch! You, two, are a team hitting the Big Apple. Enjoy and think of me. Wish I was there. Not coming up until May 26 and then will be staying for 10 days. We were there April 4 – 10…. love NYC. Keep blogging!
Judy
❤ Love it!
You are doing it! Congrats! Creating your blog; making this dream come to life.
Welcome to the blogosphere! Great to have you.
Have you ever heard someone talk about the difference between a blog and a blog post? You just started a blog, with your first blog post 🙂 The whole thing is the blog (= web log), and each entry is a blog post (post for short) 🙂 Of course, many people don’t care and everyone can call it what they want. And, technically, right now, your first post IS your blog, since there’s only one entry so far. But I know there will be more posts to follow, to flesh out your blog 🙂 Looking forward to it. You are inspiring.
Love, Katherine
This is fabulous Willow. You are such an amazing woman. I look forward to following your blog.
